Arab University for Science and Technology (AUST) Signs a Strategic Memorandum of Understanding with Hama Chamber of Commerce

As part of its ongoing mission to translate knowledge into practical application and reinforce its role as a premier academic and research institution actively engaging with its economic surroundings, the Arab University for Science and Technology (AUST) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Hama Chamber of Commerce. The agreement aims to enhance the educational environment, align higher education outcomes with the demands of the commercial and investment sectors, and prepare qualified, competitive national talent.

Signing Ceremony & Attending Delegations:

The university presidency welcomed the delegation from the Hama Chamber of Commerce at the university headquarters to officially sign the memorandum. Both entities were represented as follows:

AUST Delegation:
  • Prof. Dr. Yassin Alloush (President of the University)
  • Dr. Jamil Sheikh Othman (Director of Quality Assurance)
Hama Chamber of Commerce Delegation:
  • Eng. Samir Faisal Al-Habbal (Chairman of the Board)
  • Mr. Mohammad Wajih Al-Ibrahim (Vice President of the Chamber)
  • Mr. Amjad Al-Shibli (Secretary General of the Chamber)
Scope of Cooperation:
  • Practical Training: Opening opportunities for summer internships for students within businesses and commercial facilities affiliated with the chamber.
  • Scientific Research: Directing graduation projects and academic research toward addressing the actual needs of the economic sector.
  • Development & Consulting: Organizing specialized training courses and providing scientific and administrative consultations supervised by university faculty members.
  • Supporting High Achievers: Offering incentive awards to top-performing high school graduates in Hama to encourage continued academic excellence.
Social Responsibility & Infrastructure:

The university has placed all its logistical capabilities and infrastructure—including auditoriums, halls, and the central library—at the disposal of the chamber to host exhibitions and events that contribute to stimulating commercial activity across the governorate.

The administration of the Arab University for Science and Technology (AUST) emphasized that signing this memorandum represents an extension of its firmly established strategy to build genuine partnerships with key community institutions, reaffirming its continued commitment to delivering high-quality, practical education that serves the nation and contributes to a promising economic and academic future.
